IL4I1 (Interleukin-4-induced protein 1) Protein
Protein information
Interleukin-4-induced-1 (IL4I1) is a secreted L-amino acid oxidase that oxidizes l-phenylalanine to corresponding α-ketoacids, H2O2, and ammonia . IL4I1 is reported expressed in macrophages, mature dendritic cells, T cells, and B cells stimulated by interleukin (IL) -4. IL4I1 secreted by antigen presenting cells inhibits human CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocyte activation and proliferation, in part via the production of H2O2 and some other intracellular signal pathways inside T lymphocytes. Besides, IL4I1 modulates B cell differentiation, especially those involved in the T-cell-dependent immune response.
