Laboratory activity
Recombinant antibodies are valuable reagents to achieve reproducible experiments. Use of recombinant antibodies also participates in decreasing the use of animals in research. Our aim is to facilitate access of the scientific community to these high-quality reagents. We are involved in all the facets of this new technology: discovery of new recombinant antibodies, production of existing antibodies, characterization of recombinant antibodies, listing all existing recombinant antibodies in a unique database.
Research activities
Discovery of new recombinant antibodies: The Geneva Antibody Facility performs discovery of new recombinant antibodies against defined various targets (proteins, small chemicals). We are also happy to make discovery tools (including phage display libraries) available to all interested parties. The facility can be contacted directly: antibodies@unige.ch
Production of recombinant antibodies: A spin-off company of the University of Geneva (ABCD Antibodies SA) is dedicated to the production and distribution of recombinant antibodies: https://abcd-antibodies.com
Characterization of recombinant antibodies: Antibody Reports is an open-access scientific journal dedicated to the characterization of recombinant antibodies. It is hosted by the University of Geneva: https://oap.unige.ch/journals/abrep
The ABCD database of recombinant antibodies: The ABCD database lists all recombinant antibodies discovered with a known antigen. It currently includes >28’500 antibodies in https://oap.unige.ch/journals/abrep
Techniques available
- Discovery of recombinant antibodies by phage display
- Production of recombinant antibodies
- Phage display libraries
